Residents of Baneberry please be advised that the power outages AEC customers are experiencing may last through the night. Sheriff Coffey of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will provide a JCSO officer to patrol the city throughout the night.

Of the 49,438 members served by AEC, 2,845 members are currently affected by the outage.

“We still have over 50 separate incidents causing these outages (many broken poles) and crews are working as quickly as possible to get power restored. We will continue to update as we have new information,”  AEC posted at approximately 7:45 pm, Thursday after the tornado warning, “The weather has not been very cooperative tonight, but the crews continue to work to get power restored.”
